It’s impossible to tell because we don’t know if he is in 46.0 400 hurdle shape. If he is , 42.2-43.5. If he is in the 46.7 shape for 400 hurdles he’s running 44 flat .
My hope is, all of you posters making ridiculous statements that K. Warholm is suddenly a sub-43 400m man, I hope you all apologize under your real names on youtube or Facebook. You posters are off center. He would not have suffered years of doing extra road mileage, extra 600m repeats and extra 800m repeats if K. Warholm believed himself to be a sub-43 400m man. Explain to me how all the additional hurdle training Warholm has suffered, how does that make Warholm a sub-20.25 200m man? I assume all posters stating Warholm is suddenly a sub-43 400m man, know it is next to impossible to sprint sub-44 400m without sub-20.75 200m speed. Warholm, I hope you know has never broken 21 seconds for 200m. Could K. Warholm sprint 20.6 to 20.9 200m. Maybe. All the long repeats K. Warholm has been doing does not make one a sub-20.5 200m man. Public contrition people!

Yup. Bummer. I thought a PB was a certainty and sub 44 a possibility.

The hurdles barely affect him.
I think I won the thread!

Gusting winds and not ideal heat-wise. Bad conditions for the 400m. I guesstimated about .5 seconds worse than optimal, but it might be more like .7. That being said Warholm running his best wins this race in 44-high I think.

How? He was passed by 3 guys, including the geriatric Makwala in the home straight.
Why did karsten even run this race, I bet if I were him I would have considered dropping off and stepping off the track short of 300m in. Or maybe that’s just my defeatist amateur spirit shining through. 2.6% over his goal time! 3.6 over much of this board’s speculation, 7 over the schizo poster’s bid!
I really hope the wind is what dissuaded them all from going for SB and PB, especially for KW
Ah yes - and a question , what surface do pro distance runners do most of their mileage in-season and off-season?
