Can we talk about something else now?
I like almost every song from his old + album particularly Lego House. Not a big fan of his newer stuff. 7.5/10
Musically to me Sheeran's about 6.5. Good phrasing and on pitch but eminently forgettable.
Entertainment value? 4.5. He wouldnt make top ten on "Idol."
9.9/10
Do yourselves a favor and listen to a few songs from his earlier albums. For me, he is the digital evolution of the singer songwriters of the 70's with a splash of rap and looping genius. I'll list a few suggestions here. Obviously, he is not for everyone, but you have to acknowledge his originality and quality of his voice and guitar skills. Also, watch the live performances on Youtube. The album versions tend to be over-produced.
Give me Love
Bloodstream
Tenerife Sea
Don't F with my love
I like a few of his songs. Don't, Sing, A Team, Photograph, and Barcelona are all 6-7.5/10s so really enjoyable depending on my mood.
Castle on the Hill and Supermarket Flowers are two songs of his that I think are legitimately great. 8.5-9/10 territory for me. I've never really enjoyed a full project from him but he certainly has enough talent to make a great song when he really wants to.
I also give him some bonus points for blowing up without going full pop. A Team, Don't, Sing, and Thinking Out Loud all got a ton of airplay without being super trendy. At this point in his career he's going more the popstar route (I haven't liked anything of his I've heard in the last year or so) but apparently some people still like it.
Overall, I'll give him a 6/10, above average, but if he were playing something more akin to Nirvana's Unplugged performance, I think it'd be a good 8/10+ performance.

Not a good singer, horrible at guitar and really not very creative.
His concert is just a bigger version of a wannabe kid in a garage with no friends looping some basic strum patterns and screeching into a mic.
But people line up because they have been told they like him. He is just a male Taylor Swift. Sad what people try to call music.
If you “can relate” to their songs you are 3 years old.

Denigrating artists with obvious objective talent doesn't make you seem sophisticated. It makes you seem classless.

OK, I don't listen to stupid pop music but I do visit this site. I saw this & pulled up some of this guy's music. Jesus, why do I come here. Why do I always take the bait. How do I un-hear this.
I cancelled a streaming service subscription as it kept suggesting his music and didn't have the function to block him.
10/10
I don't think he does anything amazing but I just like a lot of it. IMHO, the best mainstream musician over the past 10 years and it isn't even close.
A-Team
Castle on the Hill
Give Me Love
Thinking Out Loud
Happier
Perfect (with Andrea Bocelli)
I See Fire
Dive
Those are probably my top 8 but I enjoy at least another 12+ of his songs.
I agree he probably would not be top 5-10 in American Idol, unless they let him sing songs he wrote. Still, the only artist's station I play on Amazon Music.
I love rap, country, classic rock, oldies, Christian, classical, pop, and Motown. Come at me bro.
who?
He's good!! Probably 7.5/10. If I hear him on radio or spotify whatever I always bop along.

Yes, this. Isn’t he the fat red head who sings horribly, repetitively and with zero creativity? I doubt he could run 5 metres, let alone 5 miles. What has this got to do with running?

I was at a poolside party and almost drowned because every time i came up for air, i had to hear one of his songs on the stereo. Eventually, they pulled me out, but i was screaming and thrashing, begging them to let me die instead.
