WR not “Woman”

1:55.2 = 1:42.8
This lineup is missing someone critical...and very very attractive!
Don't worry, Keely Hodgkinson will be in the race. It was announced a few days ago, but the website hasn't been updated since then.
Mark my words, world record will definitely fall. The (might be) rojo guarantee.

A 1:42.8 man is no threat to Rudisha either.
WR >>>>>>>>>>> WR -2
When is very very attractive Laura Roesler gonna amount to anything with that 51 speed she had? Retired already I guess.

A new wr would be proof of doping. So - yeah, it's possible.
Can we PLEASE ban this poster? Literally all they do is accuse runners of doping.
Of course, anyone in our sport could be doping. But look at the form of the particular runner you are accusing. Very few in the history of the world with her body type and fluid form.
Absolutely baseless claims are getting really annoying, and frankly hurt the progress of the sport.

"They" do? I don't recall claiming to be non-binary.
I don't care what the "form" of the runner is - most at the top are truly exceptional athletes - as she is. But to beat a 4 decade old doped wr requires being a doper, as hard as that is for you to accept.

I believe a clean runner can beat a dirty runner if the clean is genetically and developmentally superior. The older the 800m wr gets, the larger the talent pool grows, tech and training improves and eventually a clean runner will emerge.
I have a lot of faith in Mu. She does seem like the complete package. She has a well documented past with well established coaches and programs, none of which have any doping stigma. But i could be wrong.. regardless, I would be shocked by a wr at pre.
She has already exceeded expectations for this season, wouldn’t you say?

Which is exactly why I believe she will take a shot at the WR. She has nothing else to prove and no other reason to run so soon after winning double gold, other than to get a paycheck, and she doesn't strike me as the type to be running just to make a few bucks.
yes,but what would kratichvilova and olizarenko have run on todays super fast tracks, with vaporfly shoes?id say 1.51?perhaps even lower.similarly, athing mu has done low 1.55,but put her,and her competitors on an older 80s built track, with regular spikes, and she wouldnt break 1.57.
Roisin Willis will break it in 4 years. She's ahead of all of the others in this race.

There are quite a few "ifs" there. I would also suggest that when a runner "exceeds expectations" by a considerable margin that becomes a red flag, as we have seen with threads on other runners who have made sudden and dramatic improvements that become difficult to believe. I wouldn't believe a clean elite woman runner can go from 2.01 to 1.53 in a year.

This is like getting excited about a male 800 runner going 1:46.
Besides that, her name reminds me of "Aethling," the word for an Anglo-Saxon prince.
How many 1:46 guys win Olympic gold in an American Record later that season?

Ofc there are ”ifs,” this is all speculative. Your position is speculative as well. It is also disingenuous to say she she was just a 2:01 runner at the start of the year. Muhas been a known commodity for years now. She broke the indoor AR (and beat Rodgers) in 2019. And got a BBC profile bc of it:
https://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/47507317That said, these wild speculations are just stupid. People here want to build someone up into a god, and then shhit on them when they fail to meet those expectations. I hope she does best the WR in the next few seasons. I hope she stays healthy and has a long dominant career.
So as long as you are speculating, when do you think the starting doping? What kind of program is it? Who is involved? Who supplies her?
Of course, there may be a big anti-climax! If you recall, Faith Kipyegon got beat by Laura Muir shortly after the Rio Olympics. That first post-Games meet can see surprising results.

The track at Eugene isn't made of the same bouncy material as Tokyo. It's not a 2% track.
No way the WR goes. This is a victory lap. Hayward Field isn't as quick as the Tokyo track either. I wouldn't be surprised if this is won in 1:56-1:58

So Mu ran a 1:23 600 2 years ago. This shows 1:53 to 1:57 ability already. Then she basically lost a season in between, right?
This is not the crazy progression it appears to be. Or am I missing something.

Exactly. Thick-headed autists don’t get it smh. To willfully dismiss this performance just shows you argue in bad faith or are just stoopid. Which one is it, pal?
Since you suspect her to dope, lets hear your theory. When do you think the starting doping? What kind of program is it? Who is involved? Who supplies her?
