Damn, that was devastating for me. Come on BEN make the 5k team!
Ahh Ben 😢❤️
The pride of the 207. Huge fan. Hoping he gets in via someone scratching. He deserves it and more.
he has a slim chance at making it if any of the top 3 today double in the 5 and then scratch the 10. That's how Abby D'Agostino got in.
At least hes in the record book for most consecutive sub 13:20 times if I'm not mistaken. I can't remember what it was but noo US runner has hit as good a 5K time as him in as many successive years

Where can I find this?
The Burritoman TC guys said they won't scratch, and I don't see Klecker making the 5k team so placing in the 5k is his only shot.
Pretty sure he ran at worlds in 2019 in place of drew Hunter.
Ben has had an incredible career.
Here’s to a great showing in the 5000 Ben!
Heck, maybe a Burrito Track Club member decides to scratch the 10k in favor of the 5k??

Or beetroot juice. He should have listened to his wife.

He was the only one on that track who had any sack whatsoever.
Let's slow clap old Benny for always having the cajones.
If Fisher runs the 5 makes the team in the 5 and doesn’t run the 10 True would run in Tokyo. I hope that’s what happens
I hope this happens too, but I think chances are very low of that happening (Fischer giving up a 10k spot I mean).
Also, True admits he doesn't have the kick like some of the other younger runners do, and he had been struggling a little coming into the Trials. He's more of a strength runner than a speedy one - look at his success in XC.
He mentioned he was going to race a marathon this fall for the first time. I wonder how he will adapt to that distance. I believe the longest distance he's raced so far is a half marathon, and at that time, he was like "yeah, that's the limit for me". Maybe the new supershoes are giving him a second chance. If he does adapt well to marathons, could he contend in 2024 for the marathon squad?
Ben is awesome.. Isiah and Matt Lane too..... but the GOAT.. ...I think there was someone named Joan or something???
GO MAINE!!!!
It was a great race and True was in it, but to say he was the only one who ran with balls is bull. He sat in the pack all race and when it slowed down over the last few laps he didn’t push the pace, he let it come down to a kickers race…which he will never win against the younger, faster kickers. The best guys made the team.
Stunned the track world in 2013 in NYC
First American male to win a DL 5000.

The guys is awesome. If you love running, you need to be a Ben True fan.
Hoping the burrito track club cheaters get busted so that he makes the team.
What if he's actually one of them?
Where does Louis Luchini stack up?

He will have the greatest redemption in history with the 5,000. I think he will outkick chelimo to take 3rd. Fisher 1st, Teare 2nd, True 3rd.
I’m not sure about out kicking Chelimo. Does True have the leg speed over the last 800m? If it’s fast from the start then he might have a chance. Ben couldn’t close the gap last night. This should be enough that he’ll probably fall short once again.
Assuming no magic in the 5000, the question now will be New York or Boston this fall...
(I'm guessing Boston)
