Absolutely this it is possible yes. If that's the case, Shelby has effectively screwed over not just herself but the rest of the BTC team and coaching staff. As a fan I am upset, they must be livid.

Not entertained. NIKE should be banned from sport everywhere. The pushers do not care what they are doing to sport and to kids. All NIKE athletes.
Except NIKE is the entire sport of track and field. If you do in fact ban NIKE, whoops, there goes the sport and all the money they bring with it. Do you think the idiots in charge actually want us to believe that Nike athletes aren’t doping? They’re all dirty, the whole lot of them, but what are you going to ban them all?

But she did it
It wasn’t a god darn burrito and they are not angry with her
What does that tell you ?

Wondering if this is possible. Jerry seemed legit stunned and upset in his video statement (as did Shalane) so considering the possibilities.
Yes …
They are scrambling to protect themselves in any way they can. Does not make me believe that they knew. I have no doubt of her guilt, I am on the fence (50/50) about theirs.

interesting that he pulled off "legit stunned and upset" about something that they have known about for 5 months.
Hahaha yes. I guess practicing appearing "legit stunned and upset" for five months might have helped.

I would think this is definitely possible. Why would an athlete tell their coach they're doping? Puts the coach and the program at a MAJOR risk. If Jerry knew anything at all, he is nearly as guilty as Shelby, and all of his athletes should be viewed as questionable. I would think stuff like this would be talked about very seriously any time any new athlete joined the squad.

jerry is an adult who has worked in the D1/elite running world for decades. shelby went from average (but still elite) to AR holder in her mid 20s - he knew exactly what was going on. maybe he wasn't orchestrating (doubt), but even then that would just be willful ignorance. ya done goofed jer bear.

Yes. Ban them all. F NIKE and the money, they can organize fully doped races.

Why would she need to hide dope from the coaches when the coaches provide dope to the whole team?
Yes, all of BTC is doping. If you haven't been suspicious of Schumacher since the 26:59, you haven't been watching closely enough.
Jager is doping. Lomong is doping. Mo Ahmed is doping.
Look at that! Centro linked to doping again!
They're all doping. Its a dirty sport. This is my last day paying attention. First I'm going to comment on at least a hundred of these threads.
I'm confused...i thought it was the shoes???? Now it's doping, next week shoes?
Let me know so I know what to be mad at Nike about next week.
I'm not sure why you're confused. She failed a doping test for a powerful steroid. This is doping problem.
I really, really doubt she was doping on nandrolone. That is such an easy one to test for and had lots of side effects and not very good for women to take. I think she got screwed on this one. I hope she can fight it more.
I believe they are not doping. Not to get into o names at BTC but there are some incredible athletes there and some very educated smart people there who would do very well in the world if they were not running. I could be wrong but I am 99 percent that I believe they are a clean program
Very possible since that garbage is available on the internet.
In fact, it is very popular among women, because it has mild androgenic effect and strong anabolic effect. Women athletes are using fractions of therapeutic recommended doses, and it is administered intramuscular, possibly also subcutaneously (with lower effect and shorter half life - depending whether it is decanoate, or phenylpropionate). Absorption via ingestion is minuscule (it is NOT 17-alkylated anabolic steroid, thus it is excreted in different form of metabolite when ingested) and she would have to eat huge quantity of infested meat to have 2,5x the limit, not to mention that the test is dialed for metabolites produced by the body after the injection.
Plus, any AAS can be masked in the body by the knowledgeable "trainer" (either bona fide pharmacist/physician, or self proclaimed like Salazar). I am not talking about diuretics that were used in the 80s, but much more advanced protocols. Unfortunately for cheating athletes, it is not 100% waterproof, and human bodies react differently to different environments, and stimuli. that's how she got popped. Get over it, she has clearly cheated for years, just like other US athletes that got off without punishment.
Plus I doubt her coach would not notice, how she reacted to different workloads, and the body composition changes. They all had to at least know, something is going on, if not being directly involved.
Not even knowing what nandrolone is? Please, just stop embarrassing yourself.

This is a very good point. BTC will always have shade hovering over it now. They should be angry and they aren't. They are upset they got caught.

You should delete this thread. Elite teammates don't dope their pals unsuspectingly. Only LetsRun posters even think of such a horrible thing. Seriously, delete this thread.
People routinely spread rumors, sabotage, and screw over co-workers in the corporate world all the time to get ahead, gain favor, or get promoted. Why would a training group exhibit different dynamics? I agree that it is mostly implausible but, humans are humans and ambitions make people do unsavory things.
I think this was a case of doping on her own instead of an orchestrated doping regime. Easier to keep secret that way, plus she could beat her teammates with the peds.
Yep. The ped in question built up in her system over a period of time until it got so high a drug test caught it. This is how an athlete gets caught with a ped that leaves the body in 24 hours - it doesn't work like magic, thats an average time for an average person under average conditions - things like elite level running, being smaller than average, repeated doses, etc. all effect the ped's biological half life. She has likely beat the test numerous times, which is why she thinks she can tell a gobber and get away with it. If she gets away with it, she'll be right back to doping, perhaps with a bit more caution.
Thinking about the grey area here. What if she were to consume pork from boars say 3X a week at certain times of he year to get some nandrolone into her system, but at low (and usually undetectable) amounts. Injection or pills are clearly illegal (pills not as effective no doubt but maybe some). However, eating boar meat and organs could be seen as a work around and a 'natural' way to sort of microdose.
