Then England might want to have their own team and then Wales would want their own team and you would have The UNITED Kingdom in the same boat as Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union BALKANIZED.

Why is Scotland as good as the US or better with a population ~ Massachusetts?
Massachusetts once dominated where the best Marathon Runners in the USA came from with The Greater Boston Track Club and Bill Rodgers, Salazar grew up in Massachusetts, Greg Meyer moved to Train there. Small Populations can do well if there is interest, Boston had The Marathon combined with the Running Boom in the 1970's

Exactly right and that would be bad news all around.
Never mind anyway because Scotland will take almost all the British places regardless, haha.
There’s no high altitude in Scotland
They compete as part of the GB team
What spikes?
Insane!

For the same reason Hobbs Kessler looks like the typical high school wrestler, high school baseball player, high school golfer, high school swimmer, college gymnast, and college point guard.
Great performance by Kerr, but you need to slow your roll. Cheruiyot and Ingebrigtsen can run 3:31 in their sleep.

What did I just see?? Holy faaa... Uhhh, I think that was an emphatic message to Tim & Jakob.
3:31 all by himself...looking like he was jogging. Whaaat?
That was an awesome run, but in no way can it be described as jogging. In the post race interview he even said he was “swimming” for the last 70 meters, he clearly tied up. That was all he had on the day.
He’s such a fluid and beautiful runner even with being built so differently.
Danny's athletes mostly seem to be running very well right now, excellent timing.

How the hell does he make a 3:31 look so easy, while being built like a tank?
His brother is a 240lb rugby player who has been capped by Scotland.
I remember when I pointed out that in Kenya and Ethiopia, 99% of talented sportsmen and women get funnelled into distance running, whereas in the West it's more like 2%, I was mocked for implying that sports like rugby might harbour unrealized middle-distance talents.
There was a former rugby player who took up distance running several years ago who recently ran a 2:09 marathon.
Are you referring to Scullion as your 2.09 former rugby player?
If so that is incorrect, Scullion was a runner from a fairly young age, represented Ireland at World Junior XC etc.
He gave up running, put on a bit of weight and played some recreational/club rugby at that stage, before getting back into running again seriously.
I do agree with your point about the best talent going to other sports, especially soccer in the UK.
The same thing can be said for Basketball and Football in the US. The most athletic/talented kids play the team sports.
Waiting for the brojos to start a thread trying to make this less impressive instead of being excited about the fastest 1500 on US soil.

Not really built like a tank but you can see he could be a chunky lad if he wasn't an elite miler. Either way Kerr looks a lot healthier than his competitors- it's moreso a case of having slightly higher bodyfat% than carrying around a lot of muscle.
I always wondered why carrying an extra pound of fat and not looking like an ethopian crackhead would be so detrimental for 800/1500.

In one event?
Scotland are hardly a sporting powerhouse.
The guy went from 600 out and you could see he was grinding hard the last ~300m or so, gritting his teeth, etc. This certainly wasn't a jog for him. Kerr seems to just be very strong and can keep pushing when he's redlining, but also this is why he had no kick in the last 100m. Probably one of the benefits of him being built like a tank is being very strong. In a race where he doesn't have to run almost half of it alone? I could see a 3:30 low or high 3:29.

Just after Brooks announced they can wear Nike spikes. Not coincidental.

Whited out Dragonflys. You’d think Brooks would be pissed.
Big Bomb , with all due respect Jakob's PB is 3.28.68 and Tim's is 3.28.41. How can you say it's a time they can't run. Tim just ran 3.30.41 to open his season last week. I am sure they took notice of Josh's performance though, how can you not. Wether they care or not is another story. They're still the ones to beat. Technology is ruining things, in my opinion.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
