He hit 7:20.6 at the bell, therefore 25.5.
You can clearly see it for yourself:
https://youtu.be/Tnsw9qCNLLY?t=452We can agree on this- on the ncaa level, his close is absolutely all time great. It’s more similar to Leo’s though, than Centro’s. Albeit with much greater range than Leo.
Luckily for Hocker, his best event seems to be the 1500, where non Africans medal and sometimes win.
Leo, as you all remember, in an Olympic medalist. Not saying Hocker will medal this summer (but of course anything is possible when you are a 3:50 guy who can close in 25x), but to me he absolutely has the speed and kick to win one.
NCAA gold medal sure.

Not yet.
He can barely out-kick Teare, whom has zero kick and is an endurance animal.
Teare closed the last 200 of the 3k at nattys in 26. He has a kick, Hocker's is just better.
Please get off your buds duck ass. Nothing matters, unless you can run on a big stage as Centro did.

His maturity and poise at this age. His humility, his strength and his crazy leg speed make this guy a threat in any championship race. Probably a stronger last lap than even Centro ever had. Kudos to Hocker
It's only a matter of time
You are getting the carriage ahead of the horse
Hocker is sooooo good, but he just ran 13:19, which is 20-25sec slower than the top American guys have run, who are themselves fringe medal contenders at best. Let slow the roll a bit.
I don't care what you guys say. Please refresh this post in a year, if the vaccine hasn't given you geniuses prion diseases by then

Definitely not as strong of a kicker as Centro.
Hocker’s best finish in the mile so far has been 25.8.
At 21, Centro closed in 51.6 at the world championships — thats Hocker’s kick for twice as long.
At the Olympics, Centro’s last 600 was 27.3, 25.2, 25.8.
Hocker is readily good but not on Centro’s level ... yet.
25.8 and a 53. High last lap
Rojo, what was it that you said in the supporter club podcast? If Hocker won that 5k he deserves a 7-figure contract? You are wildly inconsistent. Stay off this thread, for now.
Good thread.
If you look back guys like hocker can make the OG final. Barely at 19. More like they finish in 24x but miss the final.
Centro brought his A game and ran perfect.
Most 330 guys bring their b game and come up with nothing.
If the stars align in your favor. Then you get on the podium.
Anyway hocker can get to the games.

The 3:50 is irrelevant at the global level, he's a 3:37 guy in a world where 3:30 wins medals, and 3:28 will take the gold. Cheruiyot and Jakob both drive the pace on in every race, they won't let anyone sit and kick. Then there's the next tier like Wightman, Hoare, and Mcsweyn who also like to front-run. How much of a kick do you think Hocker has running at the pace those guys can set? You're not going to see a 3:50 winning a global title for a long time
So this gets very tediously confusing.
When Carter Christman calls out Centrowitz about Hocker being beaten by sit and kick Centro, people here are mad at Centro...
At this time, Cooper Teare was supposed to be the best. Suddenly, Hocker can beat Teare by sitting and kicking and all of a sudden Hocker can't beat Centro because Teare could...even if Hocker can currently beat Teare?
How would one even put this together...
Centro is faster than Hocker when Hocker is faster than Teare when Teare is faster than Centro???
What?
I mean seriously..what????
This thread is kind of a mess and I really don’t have much to add. Hockey definitely does not have a gold medal kick and will get demolished by Mahkloufi, the Norwegians, and the rest of Africa.
Anyways does anyone else really not trust shocker because of his form? He looks like he’s coming apart in every direction, doesn’t seem like his speed will survive a hard race or scale up nicely. I’ve seen Hunter criticized for the same reason, but haven’t seen that about Hocker. I can’t be the only one.
lols
We still haven’t had a normal international season with the new faster spikes. All Hocker is doing is winning domestically - someone has to.
Suspect he is currently not where he needs to be to compete globally. Will need a significant improvement to make swords final.

Hocker doesn't race in a mask. Thoughts?
Dude, that is not even apropos to this thread. Don't troll me. Stick it, dude.

No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?
