If they could have raced while in college, I'd bet on Matt Boling against Clancy Edwards and against Dwayne Evans.

Plus Boling's 400s are amazing, and with Justin Robinson now at ASU, I'm betting they both make the 4 x 400m Olympic relay.

This is 100% PED pattern of HS to NCAA transition. Kids get slower despite being older, stronger and in a superior training environment because they used drugs to get a scholarship and stop taking them so they don't lose them.

LOL that you get slower from HS to NCAA bc of 'different environment' you are talking about 20 year old athletes, supremely adaptable in the prime of their ability to improve.

Boling will be a decent national level athlete but never an olympian or the level he was in HS. houston high school sports is rife with PEDs.

For sure Houston HS sports is a hotbed of PED use. parents consider it an investment to get their kids a scholarship and save 250k

I coach at a school where some of the kids wouldn't have running shoes without the generosity of a local running store. Some of them get faster in college. Some get slower. I can guarantee you they did not use any PED in high school. The money is simply not available. There are far too many variables involved with the transition to college sports to make unfounded accusations of drug use.

Boling's father an attorney for high tech industries. Boling's HS was $30k/year.

Alan webb's father was an anesthesiologist

If his pr's are better, which they are, then his performance has improved.

I was trying to illustrate the fact that a performance differential between the same athlete in high school versus college should not be construed as indicative of PED use at either level, as indicated by the fact that my own athletes have at times experienced performance drop offs in college without chemical enhancement in high school. I'm sorry that my point was not more clear.

A US olympic gold medalist in the sprint hurdles got suspended for tampering w/ a drug test

almost every single high performing 100 meter US sprinter of the last 10 years has been caught on PEDs, yet it is fantastical and slanderous to presume a white high school sprinter who came up in a city known for high school performance enhancing drug use and who ran a 100 m in less than 10 seconds w/wind and another in 10.11 w/o wind is somehow above suspicion???

Whites aren't West Africans or the Chinese/Japanese gene pool where explosiveness is more common.

In the entire history of track and field, only one pure white athlete has broken 10 seconds in the 100

and here we have a HS kid doing the same in an era where PEDs are mail ordered easily and routinely. It's too suspicious, esp his drop off in all his HS events now 2 year s removed in college.

take your righteous indignation and eat it, where there is smoke there is fire. and there has been tons of fire surrounding US sprints for a long time and there is smoke surrounding boling's HS performance for sure.

In the name of every 100 meter high school sprinter who did his best w/o PEDs and competed honestly, the integrity of Boling's HS achievements and times need to be scrutinized closely esp now that we see his college times are far slower than HS.

Remember - no drug testing in HS, But twice a year random testing in Div 1 NCAA track and field.
