Course is USATF measured and certified. No guess work here.

And lets be honest given the shoes, those times really are not that fast. Bunch of 62s. Great win by Morgan, strong debut Day and probably good omens for Fauble & Riley at Marathon Project in December.
Solid times and would have surely been faster without the wind. Not awful but a far cry from being a slight breeze.
Also, it's not anything close to a pancake flat course. It's almost constantly rolling for the majority of the course.
How dare a triathlete show up and win a distance race. Is nothing sacred anymore?
love to see the blatant sexism from the all-male LR crew:
"professional triathlete Morgan Pearson"
"36-year old mother of two Keira D’Amato"

How many kids does Morgan Pearson have? Also, how old is he? Also also, is Kiera a triathlete too?
Are any of those relevant descriptors in this context? If so, which ones?
Incels, feel free to sit this one out.
Is morgan still training with the tinman guys? also, Why did parker stinson not run?

This. Fischer was actually favorite to win out of the Tinman Elite group, he was in better shape than he has ever been before. He recently closed a 7-mile progression run at high altitude with a 14:20 5k, indicating 60/61 minute shape (that's the pace of a 60:30 half btw, not even adjusted yet for an obviously faster pace on non-altitude course!).
.
I’m pretty sure that run was on a treadmill I’m pretty sure, we don’t know anything about what incline it was. If it was zero incline it’s not very impressive, barely under 15 minutes converted. But ya Reed would have probably been in the mix in mid 62. That course is probably 30-45 seconds slower than Houston, so great run for the top 4 or 5 guys. And the first woman smashed it
I'm can't stop laughing at this reply. It's always very entertaining to see Phil swoop in with the praise on the good days and remain stone-cold silent on the mediocre or bad days. Bravo!

Below is the elevation profile of one loop of the bike path around the lake. The dips at 2 and 4.8 miles are bridges, so not actual dips.
He had had close contact with Droddy recently who had tested positive this week, whereas another Tinman guy came because he hadn't been with Droddy recently. I say kudos to him for listening to the science.
Source: I watched about 3 min of the coverage this morning and just so happened to catch that in the few scant comments that popped up, directly from Reed himself.
Was Morgan in Alphafly’s or new 361’s?
He hasn't been training with Tinman for a while now.
Facts:
Pearson hasn't been training with Tinman for a very long time. It is extremely disingenuous to credit Tinman at all for Pearson's race.
It was a weak field.
This was an easy course. A lot of men and women ran a PB.
It wasn't a fast time at all. Elite marathoners run faster than that pace for a full marathon.
He averaged 4:45 pace. Anyone sub 13:45 (4:23 pace) in the 5k should be able to run 4:45 pace for a half marathon.
D'Amato's performance is far more impressive
Actually, he’s thee original Tinman pro runner, just read his bio, dumbasses.
But lately, he mixes Tinman runs with running on his own and with McElroy. It’s all on Strava, dumbasses

Thanks for agreeing with me Marc.

I think it's time to admit Tinman training is good enough to keep up with the big boys. Quite a good showing for them and Reed Fischer would have been right up there, too, if he had raced.
He would have raced, but since COVID spiked in Boulder, and fearing he picked something up (despite 3 negative tests), he decided not to start and give up this opportunity to win and set a huge PR just to protect all the other competitors. What an athlete, putting the health of others in front of his own performances, despite being in all-time high fitness!
Are we really congratulating a guy on not running due to Covid spiking, when he's part of a group of a dozen guys who never follow any social distancing protocols?
No, I don't feel bad for the guy having to drop out when every day there's videos of these guys running together, giving each other hugs and high fives, not wearing masks, their coach doing the exact same thing, crossing over with athletes from other groups, traveling from state to state, etc. Like, what did you expect to happen?

Idk man. Morgan is good because he puts in like 400 miles of work a week. The man trains his aerobic system to a monstrous degree. He would beat Reed in most things, most times. Not because he trains with Tinman, but because its hard to compete with 30 hour weeks between the pool, the bike, and the trails.
also, Morgan doesnt train with TME. This was covered on the board recently and in the pod about how theres a big rift between them
From Nick Willis' Instagram feed...
Morgan wore the Alpha-Fly
Jake Riley wore the ON Cloud Boom
From a motivation perspective, Morgan had to be much more motivated to compete as an under dog and take home some pro-runner scalps.
Inversely, Jake Riley a 2021 Olympian, just needs a race to keep the ball rolling towards his Olympic training block. Although, this was his best result since the trials.
The race appeared to be tactical. I don't think anyone who was in contention was hammering until mile 10 when Lara took the lead. Great race for him as well.
