Watching the Nathan's competition,....Truly ready for a beer mile now.
Where are we supposed to watch it? Did I just miss the link? Will it be added to this article?
It looks like this link will become live? This is the link in the article where it supposedly will be played?
will someone confirm how TF to watch this? Literally no link on the front page to watch. No information other than 1pm start.

Note: Allison Grace Morgan's 6:16.5 broke Elizabeth Herndon's WR of 6:17.9
The first place guy's chugging was insane. That has to be close to the limit of what is possible.

Everybody needs to chill out. The world is in an awful way right now, so a little goofy distraction is exactly what we could use.
This. Just lighten up people!
This was a blast. Those guys were cruising. Love all the elements: chugging, running, holding it down, then the all important water pour at the end.
Still sad for Bellemore last year aussteint the record but leaving 1/2 oz. too much. But that was his fault.
Good races. The men's and women's winners were both beasts.
Any ideas why Bud Light Platinum seemed to be a popular beer choice? Is labeled as 6% ABV.

I also thought it was odd. Maybe low carbonation?
This was in the Men’s Results:
52 Heiko Spitzhorn 7:46 F
Just an error or did someone try to sneak into the wrong race and only get found out later?

seriously!
He's the one in the hype video that can throw down 2 beers (of water) at once
I thought Erin O’Mara is the WR holder for women at 6:08.
I will give you the Beer Mile World Classic's Perspective. Our recognized world record was Liz Herndon's 6:17 at the 2014 Flotrack race. The 2014 race was not done on a standardized track, but it wasn't asymmetrical, either. There were a lot of turns in their 2015 and 2016 races and the tangents measured weren't the tangents followed by the athletes. The chug was also longer. A long chug zone shortens the running portion of the race. I raised the issues from the 2015 event, with Flotrack. (The event where Erin O'Mara ran 6:08). The problems were corrected for their 2016 race. I went out with Flotrack's course marshall to provide a second measurement. Anyway, one of the reasons the World Classic holds our championships on tracks is that it takes away any doubt. While the situation is unfair to Erin O'Mara, there has to be some confidence in the WR. Here are my notes and justification : 1. The First Chug Zone is ok, but chugging started before the zone on subsequent laps 2. The field was picking up and opening their beer outside the zone before lap 2/3//4 See Rule 2 and Rule 9 3. I estimate the actual zone was about 6.5m too long...which is 17-18 free/walking meters in a beer mile....(3 to3.2 seconds) This is based on 2 8 foot tables with about one full step of space in between them. Check out 1:10 into your video. 4. Bottles were picked up and consumed by all athletes before the chug zone. (At the World Classic, we set up our beer tables inside the zone. Proposed Solution: Move all Tables inside the 10M Chugging area. Very simple fix. 5. There is always concern on non-standard tracks. We had the same issue on Treasure Island. We used Tom Knight (he remeasured NYCM...which took away Alberto's WR). Some great information can be found at USATF, which lays out the standardization process (Jones Counter's bikes). 6. When I talked to you last year, he said the track was measured from the inside, but the championship track is different Check out 1:38 to 1:49 in your video...the tangent is actually on the outer part of the track. 7. Watch Lewis's path....all athletes went the same way.... At 1:38 he comes around the turn At 1:48...he is on the outside of the track At 1:52...he is able to cut back to the inside I can only guess the distance per lap, but I would guess 3-4m per lap...or 12-16m total. It may be the same....you just to measure the different paths to make sure Estimate: 32-40 meters short

Bud Light Platinum is popular because the alcohol content must be at least 5%, so that makes most light beers ineligible to use for a beer mile. BLP is above 5% and is closest to a light beer, so a decent amount of people who would otherwise prefer a light beer choose it
We did idiotic and irresponsible chugalug runs etc back in the day. We certainly didn't have a social media platform to broadcast our stupidity to the whole world the way we do now.

Since you seem to be in the know, maybe you can help me out. I tried to confirm the Women's Grandmaster (50+) world record a year or two ago as I believe my wife broke it but I could never could get any confirmation so I didn't submit the time. I still have the proof. Can you confirm what the world record is? Thanks.
