Per his IG, I believe Nick Symmonds (goat) just did this challenge.
Of course he did.
While others are dreaming of success, champions are out there achieving and instaing it.

Bumping this thread because I am curious to hear the opinions of LRC on this. My daughter’s varsity HS XC team is doing this as a fundraiser this summer - 24 miles in 24 hours challenge. They’re having sponsors and all that, and the COACH is driving this event. Am I the only one who thinks that is very stupid for high schoolers who are not done growing? To be clear, some of these kids don’t ever do long runs and they aren’t very committed. Not to mention, our team is not very good. Not sure why this is even in consideration for this team; quite frustrating because these kids should be devoting their attention to nutrition, sleep, and actual training - not this (in my opinion).

This should be easy for any kid in high school cc. It’s like a Sat/Sun long run. If they take the miles easy it would be less taxing than 3 mile wu/cd with 5k race and 10 mile long run the next day.
Twenty four hour is like racing at 10 Saturday and doing an 8:00 run Sunday. That was pretty common in cc.

I don't think you really need to train for this. You just need the will to do this kind of thing.
Maybe it's a 24 miles, 24 beers, in 24 hours challenge and they just left off the beer part? Now that would be more FUN!
You mean a college Saturday? Those were the days.
This is Beau Miles' "A mile an hour challenge".
You don't actually need to prepare/train or plan for it, beyond finding something to do in all the waking hours you'll have. Physically, it's not a challenge at all.
Can we talk about how crazy hard this Olympic marathon course is?
