so how pissed is Wejo now that his stud managed to get himself disqualified and lose his win TWICE in his career for unsportsmanlike conduct?

Rojo, not Wejo.
Looks like it was a "celebrating"/"dissing" DQ--I didn't see any untoward contact.
How hard is it to run the race and do your celebrating AFTERWARD? That net loss of eight Cornell points (and Princeton's points gained) did not help.
i watched the video on flotrack - why was he disqualified? was he flipping them off? the crowd was booing him after he crossed the line and he bowed to them. class act? no... but it's nothing "worse" than seb coe's 1500m in LA where he screamed at the british press box when he won the gold. the wyner guy acted like a jerk, but it's crazy to take the win away from him. and who tripped the princeton guy? it wasn't wyner, was it?

It was the other Cornell guy. Looked questionable but not DQ-worthy. Would have been hilarious if both their athletes had gotten DQ'ed.
yeah, I find a lot of humor in people getting DQ'd because the heps officials are too soft.
he won a fair race, give him the gold and move on.
whats the deal with wyner? what has he done for the ivies to hate him?
No one should ever be DQ's for irrational exuberance. If anything, such rules are a disservice to the sport.
Like I said in the other thread, this DQ is absurd. He's only guilty of making an ass out of himself. He didn't impede anyone, he didn't taunt the other runners, he deserved the win here. I can think of at least 3 other athletes that have celebrated for at least as long at the HEps. He only gets DQ'd because he's jimmy. Its sort of sad the officials are that susceptible to reactions from the crowd/their own bias.
After watching it I don't really see anything that unusual. He celebrates before the line a bit and then bows to the crowd. Where is the smoking gun? No foul language or distasteful antics. Guess people are supposed to be robots and not get excited for things.

As has already been stated, if anybody besides Wyner had done this they wouldn't have gotten DQ'ed. Kinda like when Artest got a flagrant called for a regular foul a few nights ago when Rajon Rondo can slap Brad Miller across the face and not get anything called. It shouldn't have been a DQ but when somebody's a dick like Wyner it factors into how quickly the officials will be ready to DQ him.
Just watched the race on hepstrack.com Disqualified for that? No disrespect to the celebratory antics of Wyner, but Usain Bolt would put him to shame in a final 50m pre-finish celebration contest. It's a shame Heps officials weren't on duty in Beijing as I'm sure most people feel that Richard Thompson should be the true Olympic Champion. Jimmy's diqualification is the stupiest bit of officiating I have ever witnessed in track and field.
Its Ivy leage.. Who cares?
ok watched the video.. Yes he should be DQ'ed becaus of the girly bow.. He should have at least flipped them off and Gotten his money worth
You must have never run in it.
I just watched the video. I have no affiliation to any Ivy League school.
Having said that, there is absolutely no reason for a DQ. It was obvious he was excited to win the race.
DQ's like this are a perfect example of why our sport is not popular.
When someone shows a little bit of personality or emotion it's dubbed 'unsportsmanlike'.
Kudos to Wyner for making the last 50 meters entertaining.
Karma is a bitch. He shouldn't have been DQ'd, but maybe he shouldn't always be such a dick either. No need to gloat like that - get over yourself bro.

At least you aren't jealous of him...

Correct. I am not jealous of him. A less than astute observation, Mr. Ithaca.
who would be jealous of someone making a complete fool of himself like that?
