KOZLOWSKI AND BYRNE WIN RAS NA HEIREANN By David Monti Artur Kozlowski of Poland and Lynda Byrne of Ireland were the winners of yesterday's Rás na heireann cross country in Termonfeckin in County Louth, Ireland. It was the 39th edition of the race. Kozlowski, who finished third last year, covered the 6 km course in 17 minutes and 56 seconds, four seconds ahead of American David Nightingale. Jussi Utrainen of Finland, last year's champion, finished third in 18:03. Irishmen Keith Kelly and Mark Carroll rounded out the top-5. Byrne, a 1500m runner who represented Ireland at the 2008 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, finished the women's 4 km course in 13:45. That put her three seconds ahead of American Jenn Donovan. Irishwoman Kerry Harty got third in 13:59. The race was the second of two related events in Ireland in recent days. Many of the same athletes ran the Armagh Road Race last Thursday. Indeed, Kozlowski finished seventh there and Harty was the women's winner.
