With one Olympian in the bag, and the womens Olympic Marathon Trials
looming, this year could be a year of many firsts in the marathon for
the Hansons-Brooks program. Hansons-Brooks (powered by Saturn) veteran
Clint Verran hopes to set the tone with a first of his owna win in a
major marathon.
Verran travels to Italy this weekend where he
will kick off the spring marathon season for the Hansons-Brooks team at
the Treviso Marathon. The veteran of nearly twenty marathons (ten
sub-2:18 marathons), twice a member of the USA World Championships
Marathon team (2003, 2005), three-time participant in the Olympic
Marathon Trials (2000-11th, 2004-5th, 2008-18th), and a tenth place at
the 2006 Boston Marathonthere are few active marathoners in the United
States with as much experience and as many accolades as Clint Verran.
This weekend he hopes to add 2008 Treviso Marathon Champion to his long

Marathon, the race has been won in under 2 hours, 12 minutes. Verrans
personal best in the marathon is 2 hours, 14 minutes and 12 seconds.

the help of a pacer, who has been instructed to lead the men through
the half in 1:05:30.
The race is set to begin at 3:45 pm EST on Sunday, March 30. Check in at the race website at www.trevisomarathon.com for results, or stay tuned for a press release on Monday.
