1/10!
The antisocial pasty basement dweller would DEFINITELY say this to Ali's face.
Cassius was a narcissist of the first order.
The draft is unconstitutional
draft dodging loud mouths:

Dick Cheney

Donald Trump
Rush Limbaugh

I'm curious why so many people are saying he was the greatest. Joe Lewis and Rocky Marciano were better. Clay was just a loud mouth who called himself the greatest but never was. He disrespected his country by dodging the draft and disrespect his family by becoming a Muslim.
Trump also dodged the draft because of a boo boo on his toe. Why do so many conservasmarts praise him?
The praise is all media hype that people buy into very easily. Lot of media slaves out there.
Explain how Joe Louis was better to begin with. I bet you don't know asnything about his career do you?
If draft dodging was his greatest sin, then you better criticize Bill Clinton for doing the exact same thing. Ali did a lot of good things during his life:
- Ali once saved a suicidal man from jumping off a building.
- He raised a lot of money for Parkinson's disease- my mother has it.
- He helped secure the release of 14 American hostages from Iraq in 1990
- He journeyed to South Africa upon Nelson Mandela’s release from prison
- He traveled to Afghanistan to help struggling schools as a United Nations Messenger of Peace
- He routinely visited sick children and children with disabilities around the world.

And Slick Willy.
Ali was a great boxer, but he was a terrible person for what he did to Joe Frazier. In the guise of "promoting" the fights he painted Frazier as an "uncle tom" and "the white man's tool", while calling him a "gorilla" he literally made black people turn away from from Frazier.
And Joe Frazier was the guy that was giving money to Ali and paying his bills during the 3 years when Ali couldnt box, and Frazier went to congress to try and get Ali reinstated. Ali repaid him by trashing his reputation for a few bucks.
Ali was the first modern athlete and the first rap artist.
All the other praise or criticisms pale by comparison.
White people, he said, ‘kill our men…and rape our women daily.’
‘A black man should be killed if he’s messing around with a white women,’ he said.
And if a black woman was messing with a white man?
‘Then she dies. Kill her too.’
‘All Jews and gentiles are devils,’ he once declared. ‘Blacks are no devils. Everything black people doing wrong comes from (the white people): Drinking, smoking, prostitution, homosexuality, stealing, gambling. It all comes from (the white people).’
‘Integration is wrong,’ he insisted, ‘we don’t want to live with the white man. I’m sure no intelligent white person in his or her right mind wants black men and women marrying their white sons and daughters and in return introducing their grandchildren to half brown, kinky haired people. I want to be with my own. No women on this whole earth can please me and cook for me and socialise and talk to me like an American black woman. You can’t take no Chinese man and give him no Puerto Rican woman and talking like they’re in love and emotionally in love and physically.’

Could you imagine if someone with a physically dominating presence and skill set like LeBron James had Ali's personality. Could you imagine him making fun of players that he was beating, could you imagine him disrespecting previous basketball icons?
No you can't. He has too much class.
Draft dodging is good. Nobody should agree to go somewhere and kill a bunch of starving foreigners just for wanting to run their own country.
The trash talk is fine. Boxing is a contrived sport that uses gloves to make sure you have to land dozens or hundreds of punches to knock someone out. It's the volume of punches that creates the long-term degenerative brain damage, not the KO's. Was Ali even ever KO'd? But he sure did get brain damaged. Who cares if you talk shit compared to that. Might as well play the heel and have fun. Exploit the sickos who want to see cumulative head trauma and concussions.

And made Joe Frazier way more money than Joe would have otherwise.

Apples and oranges. That type of berating and trash talking is weaved in the fabric of boxing. It is largely what promotes the sport and generates rooting interests from consumers, and is done in front of the cameras. It benefits all parties. It really isn't used in the same way in most team sports, but I think it's naive to think that berating and trash talking isn't present, especially on the court/field. It really isn't needed in team sports to generate rooting interests as those are largely due to provincial loyalties and star power. Really nothing to do with class.
He didn't "dodge" the draft - he refused.
You left out the part about he evolved from that. From the very same article,
"“Over the years my religion has changed and my spirituality has evolved,’ he latterly explained, ‘religion and spirituality are very different, but people often confuse the two. Some things cannot be taught, but they can be awakened in the heart. Spirituality is recognizing the divine light that is within us all. It doesn’t belong to any particular religion; it belongs to everyone. We all have the same God, we just serve him differently…It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Muslim, a Christian, or a Jew. When you believe in God, you should believe that all people are part of one family. If you love God, you can’t love only some of his children.â€

Some hyping might be part of the game but Ali showed complete disrespect often mocking weaker opponents during the fight and showing no respect after the fight for others EVER. Frazier and Liston were both treated horribly and never forgave Ali for it. His was alone in his level of complete disrespect for previous boxers and for his opponents even after the match.
Don't whitewash his behavior.
