Yator takes the kings crown at this four mile road race. Was awfully close to a world best, which was 17:06, but couldn't be sure. Kipchoge over Alamirew.

To clarify that is:
1.Yator(Kenya) first
2. K.Bekele(Etho.) second
3. E. Kipchoge(Kenya) third
4. Yenew Alamirew(Etho.) fourth
Ethopia is having a pretty bad year thus far to the Kenyans. Will be interesting to see what happens at the Chicago Marathon.
how do you know that ??????
Doubt King bekele at your own peril.
vincent yator of Kenya wins in 17:03!
Bekele 2nd in 17:07
Vincent Yator 17:06
Kenenisa Bekele 17:11
Gideon Kipketer 17:15
Yenew Alamirew 17:22

Women's race was won by Sylvia Kibet in 19:40.
Not a good run by Bekele...
So....Um....
Why were the articles boasting that they were going after the World RECORD for 4miles, and then after the finish, say that he ran a World BEST?
I know the difference between the two, but if it wasn't a legal course or something, why would they advertise an attack on the RECORD when it couldn't be ratified and only end up being a BEST?
I iz confuse...
Sincerely doubt that 4miles is a world record distance (approved by the IAAF). That is why it is a world "best". 5k, 8k (5M?), 10k, maybe even 12K?, 15k, 10miles, 1hr,etc.. But 4miles is a rarely run race.
He may be the GOAT over the country but not a great roadracer yet.

How is he not a great road racer yet? He just got 2nd place not too far off the world best. And he almost demolished the 15k record a year or two ago.
Because in two tries he did not win a road race.
