Hey 50ers, hope all is well. Finished up this morning with 60 for the week. Pretty tough conditions all week. Snowy/icy roads, relentless snowfall.
Topic of the Week: Storm Stories
Seems appropriate since much of the country seems to be getting blanketed in snow. So what's the worse weather conditions you've run or raced in? It's really hard for me to come up with one. There's been so many variations of heat, cold, snow, rain, hurricanes, tropical storms, lightning, etc. A couple do stand out though like when it was -10 degrees and a certain part of my body froze literally, some of the worst pain I've ever felt. And a snowstorm a few years ago that was so bad even the local indoor tracks were closed. I sometimes get obsessed about running everyday so I stopped at an industrial park that was somewhat plowed. The snow was blowing, winds were swirling around. And under the snow there was ice but you couldn't tell where. I ended up falling on my butt at least 4 times just to get in a 4 mile run.
Post away!
