I want to be on you.
You know Art Bell molested his son don't you. That's why he's not on there anymore.
I was not aware of that, I never listened to the show when Art Bell was on it.
george norry, art bell, and conspiracies
Coast to Coast is, at the very minimum, a lot of fun to listen to.
I don't like Coast to Coast, but I listen to Michael Savage on the same station. If you have never heard him he is freaking awesome!

What the hell station is that? You mean network? You don't honestly believe your stations are the same as mine do you?

THat is absolutely not true. And he is on there -- on the weekends. He left for awhile because his son was kidnapped and molested, but some other sick f***. Get your facts right or go away.

Michael Savage is another hate monger in the mold of Rush Limbaugh. He did a brief stint on cable television but they fired him quickly for poor ratings and racist remarks.

Flame Thrower is correct. I remember listening to this whole ordeal a few years ago and Art took some time off of his show to help his son and to also to file a slander law suit against some other talk show hosts who, on the air, accused him of what Sall Sippin' is stating (the talk show hosts were eventually fired). In factuality, Art was still on the air for AT LEAST FIVE YEARS after the incident occured and still comes on during the weekends.
Savage is very over the top, but there is a kernel of truth in many of his rants. I appreciate that he bashes both Repubs and Democrats.

He is one of the kind of people that has the right idea, and a lot of good thought, but no constructive means of expressing them. He is all bluster and rant, instead of being clever and well spoken like he should/could be. But a lot of things he says are good in the fact that their intentions are good. Just the way he goes about voicing it makes it sound like he is completely insane.
I stopped listening to it. Nory seems to always have to insert the word 'God' in his broadcasts. He never has guests that don't believe in a 'God'.

I remember the October night in 1998 when Art suddenly said, "This is my final broadcast." Regular guest host Hilly Rose took over for a couple of weeks, then Art did come back and the details surrounding his brief departure (for "personal reasons") began to slowly come out. His son had allegedly been molested by a former teacher who was reported to be HIV+. I believe the teacher is serving a life sentence for the offense.
Art left the air again for more family concerns and for health reasons (mainly back trouble), being replaced by Mike Siegel for a stint, then he was persuaded to return as ratings slipped. His back got worse for awhile, forcing him into another semi-retirement, and the network brought in and groomed George Noory as the regular weeknight host, with Barbara Simpson and Ian Punnett as weekend hosts and Whitley Strieber as a part time host. Art came back to host the weekend show in 2002, citing hormone replacement as helping his ailing back and allowing him to work again.
I haven't caught the program in a couple of years, but one interesting story concerned "Mel's hole," which was a supposed miles-deep pit somewhere in the Washington wilderness which was stumbled upon by Mel (Waters is his last name, I think), who discovered that no length of rope would reach the bottom. After a couple of fact-finding visits to the site, he was discovered and "warned off" by men dressed in military outfits, and the entire area was closed for miles around. The story goes that there was presumably a secret underground installation where all manners of unknown government or military activities were taking place - perhaps involving aliens or alien technology. I forget the details, but they grew and grew and the story became legendary.
This and similar tales made Coast-to-Coast A.M. fun to listen to, if only because some of the guests had very elaborate, well thought-out stories and always had their ducks in a row when it came to retelling and meshing the details. Though the "facts" were largely unverifiable, guests like Mel would never slip up in any way that would give away the story as a hoax. Tantalizing bits of "evidence" would usually be presented to bolster the claims. While there was no real reason to believe such stories, you couldn't find any reason to disbelieve them, either. If nothing else, it made a gripping and entertaining few hours of radio.
It's fascinating to think of the lengths hoaxers will go to in order to provide "proof" for things like bigfoot. Even if there turns out to be no such animal, there is an entire army of bigfoot enthusiasts perpetrating elaborate, detailed hoaxes all over the country, some of which involve dermal ridges, track depths which suggest a 500-lb. animal, and so on. This cat-and-mouse game between the hoaxers and the investigators is so vast that it's as intriguing (and as much of a monster) as the big fella himself. At least this keeps the legend alive. And the intricacies involved in both the fakery and in the scientific examination of the "evidence" are sometimes astounding. But even skilled investigators can often be fooled by the crudest of hoaxes. One story involved huge footprints that went up an embankment with a depth and a stride length that no man could match while walking or running up so steep a hill. Investigators said it couldn't be faked. It turned out that a teenage boy had strapped on some giant "ape" feet with the toes pointing backwards and had run down the hill to give the impression of a heavy creature making enormous strides up the hill.
Please don't tell me that there is no such thing as Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster. It's too fun to believe.
If you want real AND interesting stories, try This American Life sometime.

This American Life is a great program.
If you enjoy as entertainment it's kind of fun to listen to. I'd be careful about taking anything seriously that's discussed on the show. I give it about as much crediblilty as a tabloid.....
I HAVE heard him and he is NOT "freaking awesome!" you sheep.
