Have to agree with this.
Old Yeller
Dog drool is funny for like five seconds.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Most Will Ferrell movies.
This thread has been much too kind to Ben Stiller and his body of work.
Ted
I don't know why this old thread was bumped but my vote I'd say either The Hangover or This is the End, two movies that did not have me even crack a smile.

I'm agreeing with all of the above But "Ted" which I found funny, but I think being from Boston made it that way. They even got the accent right.
Anything by Adam Sandler though, is hands down the worst. I just don't get any of his stuff.. And "That's My Boy?" Who was stupid enough to finance that? Here's the write up on Wiki: "The film received overwhelmingly negative reviews from critics and was nominated for eight Golden Raspberry Awards, ultimately winning in the categories of Worst Actor and Worst Screenplay. The film failed to make back its $70 million budget, making $57.7 million worldwide at the box office, and was labeled by some critics as one of the worst films ever made."
I can hardly wait for Joe Dirt-2, which he is helming and is scheduled to come out later this year.
Also, I never found Mel Brooks or Jerry Lewis movies funny, although I'm sure I'm in the minority on that.

One notable exception -- "Punch-Drunk Love," starring Adam Sandler and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. It's a remarkable character study that reveals the rage and aggression that seem to underlie most of Sandler's roles. Anderson called it "an art-house Adam Sandler film." Unfortunately, not many people saw it. Presumably, fans of Adam Sandler found it curiously unfunny, and fans of Paul Thomas Anderson (along with most reasonable people) were repelled by the thought of watching a film starring Adam Sandler.
The two worst movies I ever saw were "RV" with Robin Williams and "Monster-in-Law" with J-Lo and Jane Fonda. Terrible because they not only weren't funny but their aggressive striving to BE funny was grueling.
"Four Christmases" with Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn may have been the least funny alleged comedy I ever saw, but somehow it wasn't as aggressively annoying as the first two I mentioned.
I don't hate all Adam Sandler movies, there are some I actually like, but "Little Nikki" and "Grown Ups" are bottom-of-the barrel wretched. When I heard there was going to be "Grown Ups 2," I figured civilization was indeed doomed.
One older highbrow comedy that is stunningly unfunny is "The Mouse That Roared." Beloved by (older) critics, but I have to wonder why. There is never an occasion to laugh during the entire movie.
Man everything you wrote here I'm right with you. I thought "Ted" was overall funnier than "Dumb and Dumber" but both have several scenes that make me laugh out loud every time I watch.
I never could understand the overwhelming popularity of Adam Sandler. Which pisses me off and makes me feel like an outsider since most of my friends, co-workers, and girlfriend loves his movies. I'm fine with likeable, dumb, comedies but I never found anything to like from that character. I guess I must be disconnected with the majority.
And I'm with you with Mel Brooks. I've watched "Young Frankenstein" and "Blazing Saddles" several times and enjoyed them but never found them funny enough to bust out laughing,
The first time I watched "The Hangover, The Wedding Crashers, and Old School I thought they were all pretty funny but not the second time.
"Animal House" might be the most overrated comedy of all time. Its still always a joy to watch the talent of John Belushi. The same goes for "Caddyshack" with Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Night. Those guys were great and far superior comedic talents than Sandler, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray who made a ton of popular comedy movies.
Superbad.
Anything with Seth Rogen or Jack Black.
I would def say that the hangover, Ed Helms really can go crawl in a hole and die.
"What are you on, stupid pills?"

Anchorman does not fall into comedy though...It falls under its own exclusive genre of "comic masterpiece".
I like Dumb and Dumber, I like it aloooot.
There is nothing more comical than Adam Sandler's acting career itself.
By far the greatest comedy of all time is "The boy in the striped Pajamas" I laughed sooo hard at the joke at the end
Anything by Woody Allen
Anything with an ex-SNL cast member
Anything with "jokes" involving bodily functions
Favorites: Big Lebowski, Airplane, Blues Brothers, Holy Grail, Life of Brian
Overrated: Anchorman, Anything Adam Sandler, Stepbrothers, 21 jump street I though was very okay
What is it with these "surveys" that are starting to pop up on these threads?
This is going to be one of the most universally un-agreeable topics.
For older movies, I liked Blues Brothers, Airplane, Caddyshack...but after watching PT&A thought it was very overrated.
Moving on, yeah...didn't love Dumb and Dumber. Tommy Boy and Black Sheep were okay but not great.
A lot of people in the thread have mentioned movies that I wouldn't say are highly rated, thus aren't overrated. Step Brothers? Come on, no one rates that highly, right?
Moving on to newer stuff, old School is actually the one Will Ferrell movie that I enjoy, so I'm surprised to see it mentioned several times. Anchorman is definitely overrated though. Didn't think Hangover was that great. Horrible Bosses is one of the few recent comedies I can think of that I enjoyed.
Benny Hill
